Scott Kurt grew up in America’s Rust Belt, and the grittiness of his roots is evident in every aspect of his music. From his debut album, “Ragged But Right”, recorded with his band Memphis 59, to his first solo effort “Down This Road”, he captures the essence of hard living, hard work and hard times in deeply personal lyrics delivered by a whiskey-tinged bar room voice wrapped up inside a whole lot of full-tilt country-rock guitar.
PANIC FOR THE VIBE (PFTV) is an American Pop, Soul, Rock, Reggae and Blues band from Bristow, Virginia, formed in 2013. The band’s line-up includes Larry Thomas (vocals and guitar), John Graves (lead guitar and vocals), Briane Russell (bass), Jana Patterson (vocals and keyboard) and Charles Smith (drums).
PFTV’s music is highlighted by bass-driven grooves, reggae rhythms, and soulful cadences, sometimes alternating between funk, pop, blues and reggae within the same song.Their music often contains mood-altering, harmonic minor-based or bluesy vocals and guitar solos, and rhythmically-improvised heavy bass lines.
PFTV’s performance experience includes a Mid-Atlantic tour for three years, performing at concerts for as many as 6,000. The band currently performs locally in the DC Metro area at bars, clubs, wineries, corporate events and private parties. Kenney’s vocal style and instrumental prowess has wowed audiences for over 40 years nationally and internationally. He has been compared to BB King perhaps because his choice of instrument is a gold gilded “Lucille” guitar inlaid with mother of pearl or maybe it is just that he plays the blues with the intensity of a seasonal blues man. He has also been compared to the likes of George Benson and Wes Montgomery as Kenney is an accomplished jazz guitarist and vocalist.
Phil Rossi has had the pleasure of performing throughout the Washington DC Metro area for the last 16 years at Jammin Java, the Black Cat, IOTA, Parallel Wine Bistro, DNV Rooftop Lounge, 868 Estates Vineyards, Hidden Brook Winery, Fabioli Cellars, 1836 Taproom, Ragtime Restaurant, the Ashburn Pub, Monks BBQ, 930 Club Back Bar, Battlestreet Live, and Whitlow’s on Wilson to name just a few. He performs solo acoustic (your favorite music from the 60s through today, featuring loops, percussion, and tasty grooves) as well as some DJ/Electronica/fun noises.
He writes, records, produces, and subsequently performs a lot of different flavors. He blames an eclectic musical background growing up, from Otis Redding, to the Doors, to Bauhaus, Erasure, Bowie, Nine Inch Nails, Tom Waits and everything in between. He has played acoustic for years, solo and in groups
