A Maryland native, Shane Gamble embodies what it means to be a working musician. Shane attacks his guitar with passion and sings jangly songs about the good times with a distinctly American feel. Close your eyes and imagine if Tom Petty or Bruce Springsteen were to emerge now on Country radio, then added a modern twist…that’s Shane.

In early 2015, bassist Ron Jennings and guitarist Michael Lavrich started rehearsals for a new cover band project in Gainesville, Virginia. Over the course of the next few months, drummer Jon Lareau and vocalist Danielle Sanders joined the project, and the group proceeded to spend the following months woodshedding on a variety of rock and pop songs. The group began playing out under the name Audio Entanglement Theory, until the band was dissolved in the spring of 2016.
During the early summer of 2016, Rock Soup was formed by Ron Jennings, Mike Lavrich, Danielle Sanders, and Michael Bacon on drums. Soon after the formation of Rock Soup, vocalist Danielle sanders departed the group. After an extensive search for a new vocalist, lead vocalist and guitarist Brian Johnson joined the group in the fall of 2016.
With the final lineup set, the band quickly started learning new material. During initial rehearsals the band quickly found common ground playing 90’s rock. With each member having an independent taste in music, the band’s set list quickly grew to include rock, pop, and R&B hits from the 70’s through today. With a diverse and high energy set list, Rock Soup has quickly established itself as one of the premier rock cover bands in the Northern Virginia and Washington D.C area.
Kenney’s vocal style and instrumental prowess has wowed audiences for over 40 years nationally and internationally. He has been compared to BB King perhaps because his choice of instrument is a gold gilded “Lucille” guitar inlaid with mother of pearl or maybe it is just that he plays the blues with the intensity of a seasonal blues man. He has also been compared to the likes of George Benson and Wes Montgomery as Kenney is an accomplished jazz guitarist and vocalist.
