In January of 1974 Led Zeppelin and manager Peter Grant conceived Swan Song Records. Partially because their contract with Atlantic Records had expired at the end of 1973, but also to provide a conduit for other acts to record albums without having to deal with all the red tape that was inevitable with the large record labels.
Bad Company had also just formed in 1973, and lead singer and front man Paul Rodgers was searching for a management company. Through the mutual connection of former Free road manager Clive Coulson, a connection was made that would forever tie Led Zeppelin and Bad Company together.
And by June of 1974 the first band to release an album on Swan Song Records was Bad Company. Through the height of the 70’s and into the early 80’s both bands were managed by Peter Grant. All told both bands would eventually release a combined 11 albums under the label.
The band Shooting Star was conceived out of a desire to form a tribute band that would pay homage to Bad Company. There seemed to be lack of attention paid to a band that had achieved such greatness throughout the 70’s. It was quickly evident that Bad Company’s library of hits was simply not large enough to pull off a typical 4 hour performance required of cover/tribute bands.
After some soul searching the idea was hatched to morph Shooting Star into a Bad Company/Led Zeppelin tribute band. That idea has since been very popular with the crowds, and subsequently due to the overwhelming popularity of the Zepp songs, the band name was changed to Zeppelin & Company.
Zeppelin & Company is on their way to becoming one of the premiere tribute bands in the MD/DC area by combining the songs of two legendary bands into one show. Do not miss a chance to see this band.
David performs regularly along the mid-Atlantic region of the US. With his addictive melodies, a soulful vocal style and an off-the-beaten-path kind of pop-sensibility, Smith is steadily becoming a well-known performer on the East Coast. He has shared the stage with a variety of well-known acts and has been a featured act for the Washington Redskins, Washington Nationals and the Citi Open.

Hypnotic Willie is a unique musical group located in Northern Virginia, that performs feel-good rock, soul, blues and Americana, playing covers of well-loved, classic tunes and a wide selection lesser-known jewels. The Willie crew is a five piece group consisting of lead guitar, vox/rhythm guitar, bass guitar, vox/harmonica/percussion and vox/box drum. While we carry a full band sound, we do not rely on a traditional drum kit. This gives the group a special sound. This unique configuration allows our performance to be tailored for large spaces or intimate settings and allows us to play in configurations and styles along the electric <=> acoustic continuum. Their music appeals to a wide range of audiences and works across a broad range of venues.
Phil Rossi has had the pleasure of performing throughout the Washington DC Metro area for the last 16 years at Jammin Java, the Black Cat, IOTA, Parallel Wine Bistro, DNV Rooftop Lounge, 868 Estates Vineyards, Hidden Brook Winery, Fabioli Cellars, 1836 Taproom, Ragtime Restaurant, the Ashburn Pub, Monks BBQ, 930 Club Back Bar, Battlestreet Live, and Whitlow’s on Wilson to name just a few. He performs solo acoustic (your favorite music from the 60s through today, featuring loops, percussion, and tasty grooves) as well as some DJ/Electronica/fun noises.
He writes, records, produces, and subsequently performs a lot of different flavors. He blames an eclectic musical background growing up, from Otis Redding, to the Doors, to Bauhaus, Erasure, Bowie, Nine Inch Nails, Tom Waits and everything in between. He has played acoustic for years, solo and in groups
Heather Renee is a prolific writer and performer. She performs weekly in venues throughout the DC metro area. To demonstrate her writing prowess, she wrote, recorded and released a song every week for an entire year in 2008. This endeavor led to several song placements in Independent Films and garnered interested from labels to sell her work to rising artists nationwide.

Jason Masi got his start with Richmond, VA based group, Jubeus, opening for acts like Blind Melon, Everclear, and SOJA and releasing two well received albums, “Two Tone Circles” 2004 and “Natural Mood” 2007, respectively. He stepped out as a solo artist in 2010, trading in the band’s roots-jam driven rock for a more acoustic soul/R&B songwriter approach.
Scott Kurt grew up in America’s Rust Belt, and the grittiness of his roots is evident in every aspect of his music. From his debut album, “Ragged But Right”, recorded with his band Memphis 59, to his first solo effort “Down This Road”, he captures the essence of hard living, hard work and hard times in deeply personal lyrics delivered by a whiskey-tinged bar room voice wrapped up inside a whole lot of full-tilt country-rock guitar.
