SHARIF

Sharif – who is currently earning his Masters at the Berklee College of Music – has made quite a name for himself on the touring front, vacillating from playing intimate solo acoustic shows of his original material to belting out cover tunes (from Rihanna’s “Disturbia” to Maroon 5’s “Won’t Go Home Without You” to Beastie Boys “Girls”) at biker bars to playing one of his favorite genres of music, oldies, at retirement centers (because he wants to, not because he has to) to corporate gigs for Gap and Amstel Light to opening for the likes of Jason Mraz, Kenny Loggins, Rhett Miller, Rusted Root, and Blake Shelton.

“Music consumes me,” explains Sharif, who has approximately 2,000 shows around the world under his belt. “I just love playing music, teaching music, learning more about music, and doing whatever I can to get there.”

SCOTT KURT & MEMPHIS 59
Nov 3 @ 3:00 pm – 6:30 pm
SCOTT KURT & MEMPHIS 59

Scott Kurt grew up in America’s Rust Belt, and the grittiness of his roots is evident in every aspect of his music. From his debut album, “Ragged But Right,” recorded with his band Memphis 59, to his first solo effort “Down This Road,” he captures the essence of hard living, hard work and hard times in deeply personal lyrics delivered by a whiskey-tinged barroom voice wrapped up inside a whole lot of full-tilt country-rock guitar.
It’s a reverence for telling the stories of a small town way of life that drew Scott to country music. “Nashville turns out great songs, with catchy hooks, sure – but the best of them tell great stories. When you close your eyes, and listen to the lyrics and that movie reel in your head starts turning – that’s what I want my songs to do for people.”
His songs have earned Scott comparisons to legends like Steve Earle, Tom Petty and Gary Allan, as well as multiple Washington Area Music Association nominations, and opening slots for some of country’s biggest and brightest stars, including Cole Swindell, Eli Young Band, Kip Moore, Easton Corbin, Frankie Ballard, Joe Nichols and personal idol Radney Foster. Scott currently resides in Sterling, Virginia, and fans can see him perform regionally at venues like Hill Country D.C., The Hamilton, The Fillmore and The State Theatre.

While the Feathered Fish is a relatively new band, they have managed to generate a solid, home-grown fan base on the east coast of the United States, specifically in the Northern Virginia area. They have evolved over the past few years by fusing an organic blend of Rock, Southern Rock, and Reggae in their original songs. They have recorded their songs in Clear Track Studios in Clearwater, Florida, finishing their single “We On The Run” set released in March 2017. The Feathered Fish primarily play on the east coast, but plan to branch out across the country and tour the west coast in the near future.
