Jason Masi got his start with Richmond, VA based group, Jubeus, opening for acts like Blind Melon, Everclear, and SOJA and releasing two well received albums, “Two Tone Circles” 2004 and “Natural Mood” 2007, respectively. He stepped out as a solo artist in 2010, trading in the band’s roots-jam driven rock for a more acoustic soul/R&B songwriter approach.
Scott Kurt grew up in America’s Rust Belt, and the grittiness of his roots is evident in every aspect of his music. From his debut album, “Ragged But Right”, recorded with his band Memphis 59, to his first solo effort “Down This Road”, he captures the essence of hard living, hard work and hard times in deeply personal lyrics delivered by a whiskey-tinged bar room voice wrapped up inside a whole lot of full-tilt country-rock guitar.
Will Baskin is a full-time crooner guitarist from Northern VA. He covers all artists from Johnny Cash to Justin Bieber. Taking influences from his favorite singers Sam Cooke, Chris Stapleton, and Amy Winehouse. He knows tunes from every Decade and is known to take requests in exchange for a beer or three.. Audacity Brass Band is a ten piece brass band based out of Richmond, Va that took the sounds of New Orleans and blended it to form a tight jam-influenced funk fusion. Audacity has taken the brass band and spun it into something uniquely their own. Hop on the groove caboose as they take you on a journey through emotions and eras that have you grooving the whole way through.
Runnin’ Shine is a hot seasoned new country act hailing from Virginia by way of Alabama, New York and New Hampshire. Playing together since February of 2015, Veer Magazine 2019 and 2020 Country Artist of the Year and Great American Song Writing Finalist, Runnin’ Shine is a tight four piece comprised of Janice Chandler on vocals and guitar, Richie Bohr on lead guitar, Bill Snow on drums and Jim Cahoon on the bass.
Danny Kensy is a nationally touring Country artist and songwriter based in Richmond, VA. His music blends a modern day edge with classic and traditional Western sounds. Kensy’s songwriting has been awarded by The Billboard Song Contest, The International Songwriting Competition, and The Great American Songwriting Contest. He has also been deemed “One To Watch” by Nashville Songwriting group NSAI and has won theJosie Award for Modern Country Rising Star.
A saxophonist, a guitarist, a singer/songwriter, and a bandleader, Ken has been described as a purveyor of restless midwestern sentimentality, who searches in his songs for the kinds of truth that’s often best found within oneself. Whether performing as a solo acoustic singer-songwriter or with his full band Cross Kentucky, Ken stays busy, playing 200+ shows a year across the DC, Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia region, the eastern seaboard, the midwest, and south.
This acoustic alternative rock soloist, Mike Richards released his first live self-titled, 5-track EP back in August of 2015. Based in Washington D.C., he has toured the country playing from coast to coast. Mike has been performing in rock bands and acoustically since the age of 14.His roots stem from a heavy influence of 90’s alternative mixed with some acoustic rock. His influences through the years have been the likes of Incubus, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, Foo Fighters, Third Eye Blind, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Ed Sheeran, Prince, and The Beatles. He began this project after the split of The Offset, a former Washington DC based rock band that opened for the likes of The Wailers and Frankie Munoz’s band “You Hang Up”.
Since starting A Note Two Self, Mike has been signed to a small label based in Phoenix Arizona and has been performing around the nation for local clubs and festivals such as the Atlantic City Beer Festival with names such as the Dropkick Murphy’s and Streetlight Manifesto. He also performed in the 2017 Chicago IL and Columbia MD legs of Vans Warped Tour. His tour route for 2018 will include the final run of Vans Warped Tour, the Prescott Valley Fair in Phoenix AZ, and various other locations around the East Coast TBA.
