DAN WOLFF
Nov 13 @ 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
DAN WOLFF

It is hard to believe that Dan Wolff would have ever been anything other than a musician, but it wasn’t until his college years that he seriously started playing guitar. Shy at first, he performed only within the confines of his Cornell University dorm room. It took nearly three years, and constant encouragement from friends and family, for him to begin performing publicly.

Beginning small, he cut his teeth playing acoustic guitar and singing backup vocals for various singers at open mics held by small venues in and around the city of Ithaca, NY. After some initial success, Wolff penned a number of original songs which were ultimately recorded and released under his own name at Big Time Studios in Interlaken, NY. Upon posting the songs on MySpace, he received further recognition through online resources wanting to reuse and market his demo material.

After moving to DC in 2009, Wolff continued to perform regularly and began recording his entire collection of original music which resulted in several more album releases through Ambiance Recording Studio, in Germantown, MD. As his following grew, Wolff began collaborating with an eclectic group of talented musicians and decided to form a band. Ultimately calling themselves The Muddy Crows, the group released a self-titled debut album in 2014. Twice voted ‘Washington DC’s Best Original Band,’ by The Washington City Paper Readers Poll, the band looked to expand their radius beyond the Mid-Atlantic region. Performing regularly throughout the Pacific Northwest and the Great Lakes regions, a trio of The Muddy Crows was even invited to perform 21 shows across Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands in 2016.

Since relocating to the nation’s capital in 2009, Wolff has performed over 500 shows and released 3 full length albums. While he is currently finalizing a few smaller EPs for release in 2018, Wolff’s efforts are focused on The Muddy Crows, whose summer schedule is booked with festivals all over the eastern seaboard.

HILARY VELTRI

Born and raised in a small town outside of Pittsburgh, PA, Hilary has always been a small town girl with big time dreams.  She started playing guitar at the ago of 12 and soon became a self-taught keyboard player and songwriter.  Hilary studied Music Education with a voice concentration at Duquesne University’s Mary Pappert School of Music from 2009-2011, before moving on to run her own fitness business.  Before long, she was itching to get back into the music scene and follow her dreams of performing music and making people smile!

Hilary re-located to Northern Virginia in August 2014 and took a brief performing hiatus to focus on some family goals.  She returned to the acoustic gigging game in August of 2015 performing in local venues.  Since her return to the live music scene, she has been able to gig frequently and build a regular following in Northern Virginia.  Most recently, she has been songwriting with Grammy-winning writers and coming into her own stylistically.  Her influences are incredibly varied and her style transcends generations and genre barriers with something new every week.

SHANE GAMBLE BAND

SHANE GAMBLE BAND

Building on the success of his recent single “Beautiful Work,” which cracked the Top 40 on the Billboard charts, Maryland-based singer/songwriter Shane Gamble is set to release a batch of new songs on his own label, Rt. 50 Music, this coming May. The self-titled EP features the singles “Love Is a Road” and “Tangled in You,” which were co-written with 1999 “Country Songwriter of the Year” Phil Vassar. “I went to Phil’s place with nothing more than an idea of a song title in mind,” says Shane. “Over the course of a couple hours, we finished the song. I think we captured something special that day.”

The basic tracks for that song, “Love Is a Road,” were recorded at Magpie Cage Studios in Baltimore by famed artist/engineer J Robbins. To round out the mixes, Shane brought in session pros Rami Jaffee (Foo Fighters, Wallflowers), and Sean Hurley (John Mayer, Vertical Horizon, Lady Antebullum), while drummers Nir Z, Rich Redmond, and Michael Dawson carry the grooves.

Sonically speaking, these new tracks sound bigger than anything Gamble has done in the past. On “Lost in a Mystery,” the guitars grind and the lyrics take an outsider view on how the modern country business operates. “I wanted to be real and candid” says Shane. “Nashville is a great town, but it has its way of doing things. It’s great but having a family and living almost 1,000 miles away in Maryland means I can’t walk the traditional path, I’ve got to build this thing on the road show by show.

Gamble spent much of 2017 on the road, road-testing new material as he was opening for top touring artists like the Eli Young Band, Lee Brice, Lo Cash, Grainger Smith, Phil Vassar, and David Nail at premier venues like the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC, the Fillmore in Baltimore, and the Bluebird in Nashville. “These songs are a journey through where I’ve been in the past two years—the ups and the downs. They were written with the live show in mind, I want to bring something new and fresh to the stage, and speak these stories really clearly.”

In 2013, Shane enjoyed the success of his debut album and the Top 10 single “Turn My Way,” a pop/country tune that’s equal parts punchy and poignant. Thanks to the groundbreaking SiriusXM country music channel The Highway, Shane was able to crash the party as an independent artist, garnering new fans across the globe and making a splash in the music industry crowd.

Shane’s sophomore effort, American Heart, was released in 2014 and features twelve tracks that showcase his ability to seamlessly blend country, rock, pop, and Americana. Gamble co-wrote songs for American Heart with heavy-hitting Nashville players Derric Ruttan, Andrew Dorf, and Zac Molloy. In the studio, Gamble worked closely with Rick Beato, who not only produced “Turn My Way” but is also credited with hits by NEEDTOBREATHE, Shinedown, Charlie Mars, and Parmalee.

Gamble’s new self-titled EP is slated for release this May. Visit www.shanegamble.com or contact for more information.
